Dear Vittorio,
I’m really sad to read your message and want to clarify:
good morning Dirk, I will answer point by point and ask you to take a few minutes to read my answer to the end.
1. I did send a reply exactly 14 minutes after your “malfunction” request on March 15th.
In fact, I was not referring to this response of yours, which was useful to me and for which I thank you, but to my three subsequent emails: my response of March 18, 6.28pm, with the photo of the open light and the question whether the problem was the position of the O-Ring, and the two subsequent sendings of the same email (3 April, 9.05pm and 11 April, 12.02pm)
2. In the end there was no malfunction at all but you did a severe and obvious mistake : You ignored that there was a magnetic washer hanging on the housing and located BETWEEN! the rim and the microlight.
It's like installing brake pads and forgetting to remove the remaining packaging between the brake pad and the rim and then complaining about the poor braking performance.
3. If you had looked at the enclosed quick manual this "malfunction" would not have been possible, because it says under point e: Push the generator housing (d) directly onto the rim using side pressure. An example image is given, too. This is not possible in case there is material (in your case the magnetic washer) attached to the housing: It was between the housing and the rim.
Thats' true, my fault, and problem solved after your message on March 15th.
4. Instead you started your own analysis of the light and we cannot give any guarantee if sensitive parts of the electronics are opened and inspected by the user.
No, there is a double misunderstanding: the light that didn't come on due to the forgotten washer was the rear left one, the defective one was the rear right one and above all I didn't open it to inspect it: the reflector came off on its own as soon as I took it in hand to assemble it, without forcing it and above all without intentionally dismantling it (this is why I spoke of a defect or assembly error in the factory); for this reason I have to ask you to trust my word, otherwise I would have to ask for the testimony of the mechanic who installed the lights (the fingers in photo 7492 are his)
5. After receiving the message that your light works as expected after removing the washer we did not answer because apparently everything was fine and settled the matter for us.
Instead, in that email of March 18th (and in the two of April 3rd and 11th) I asked for help to solve the problem of the reflector coming off; This is the answer I was saddened not to receive. If you had read my email to the end it would have been clear that there were two problems and only the first had been resolved.
6. The fact that the lamp no longer sat firmly was because it was no longer compressed tightly enough. A simple click is usually not enough. There are no instructions for this, as it is not intended that the lamp be opened by the user. But you had already opened the lamp on your own before writing an email to us.
I repeat that I did not intentionally open anything: the reflector detached from its base even just by GENTLY turning it to orient it. And since on all the other three lights the reflector was rotated to orient it without anything falling off, the only possibility is that the right rear light already had a defect, or had suffered a blow in transport; However, this seems unlikely to me because the box shows no signs of damage. I will use it for the return, so you can evaluate.
7. In the event of a fall or force, the lamps can be destroyed. However, the lights will not be damaged if you cycle without an accident- in case the light housing is attached correctly (in our company) which of course is no longer guaranteed if the installation is not carried out properly.
I don't doubt it: the Microlights certainly cannot withstand very strong impacts; If I can make a suggestion, however, I would consider whether it is possible to strengthen the fixing of the reflector to the base, perhaps entrusting it not only to a simple plastic/metal joint but, for example, to a ring nut screwed to the base that prevents the reflector from slipping off. But I don't want to teach you how to work, I understand that the pieces should be redesigned and maybe mine was an isolated case that will not be repeated for anyone, which I hope.
How to move on:
In your case we offer free repair as a gesture of goodwill but cannot cover the shipping costs from Italy. Otherwise, any customer could destroy the lamps at and demand replacement at our expense, which we cannot provide.
Okay, I will send back the damaged light tomorrow morning and I thank you for your availability, but I state once again that I am certain that I am not at fault because I did not open, break or force any part of the light.

You mention information of other users on forums and on Kickstarter. You may do this and for complete information please also mention the 7 points of my reply here- otherwise an important part is missing.
Might be an idea to post this as an update on Kickstarter, too. So other backers can see which kind of problems we have to handle. Please let me know if you consider this is a good idea. Shall we link to the Italian forum for further disussion, too?
I will report in full on the forum

our exchange of messages (also translated into Italian for the convenience of forum readers), but I am not registered on Kickstarter; but if you want to use one or more of the photos I sent you, there's no problem. I'm also sending you a new photo of the lights mounted on my Dahon Vitesse folding bike, which you can use freely.

Caro Vittorio,
Come andare avanti:
