To make it short: The final approval came on Feb. 23rd 10:03 AM and this is our new status:
ShipmentRegarding the shipment of your lights, I have to admit that we are still too slow to meet the promised dates. The STVZO hassle took another few weeks (because the intention is not just to ship the pre-ordered lights and then go out of business - but to produce, sell and service these new lights continuously, which also means planning and investing beyond the pre-order campaign. Even though this mainly affects Germany, our business is extremely dependent on this approval - or to put it more clearly: without this approval I would have to stop after delivery of the preorders).
But at the moment we are just waiting for new material which partially arrived some weeks ago (see last update) and the arrival of missing material is now announced for the end of March. So this is good and bad news at same time and I still hope for understanding. We will ship some more Wega lights within the next weeks but it doesn't make sense to send incomplete Microlights- so these have to wait until April. Today I got news that the new conical washers which are important for caliper (roadbike) brakes have been finished. I used a certain model for prototyping, but this version has now almost completely disappeared from the market (only used on some Shimano brakes). It was impossible to get them anywhere, so we started custom production. Here is the result:

* Two weeks ago I posted this comment (exactly at the same time when the final approval came) giving some more insights in the difficult situation without STVZO approval before- fortunately this problem has now been overcome:
Concerning the Microlight/ Wega lights: It is a very long story now and never was intended to be so long. We have tested the Microlights and Wega successfully for more than 10.000 km (each version) and my daughter who is one of Germany's fasted time trial riders uses them every day in her daily training - often in complete darkness and even under even bad weather conditions. So they work really good and reliable. But I was threatened with a fine of 50,000 euros if I sold these lamps in Germany (This was in 2019 after I sent a full refund to one of our backers who then reported me to the KBA). You saw my updates here on and beneath all the production and delivery problems one main thing was the STVZO which I need to be able to sell/ship the lights in Germany (which means 50% of this project). We invested a lot of money and an incredible amount of time to get the German STVZO. It started with new lens development and generator optimization and finally the front lights were strong enough - and had the correct light beam for German STVZO.
I had to build the test equipment myself for the tests at the TÜV in Berlin, since there was no test procedure for such lamps until now. This was in 2021 and the lights passed all tests successfully (I "just" had to exchange rear light lenses (December 2021) because the German rules for rear lights were changed in the meantime). But that's not enough: Last year (in September 2022) I managed to pass the audit of our production successfully (a procedure with a mass of documentation, interviews, ...).
I was promised to get the STVZO certificate soon ( I expected Octoer) and then got the K-numbers in November (published here on in one more update). But that was not all: Our lights are different from "standard" bicycle lights in Germany- which means in addition to the successful tests (+ the production audit) we need an extra allowance of the German ministry BMDV (Bundesministerium für Digitales & Verkehr). I did not mention this in my "K-number" update because I was informed that the allowance will arrive early in December- but it did not. I was informed it would arrive before Christmas- but it did not... I was informed it would arrive before mid January, but it did not… I was informed it would arrive before mid February- but it did not...
Why do I tell this? I had/have the plan to optimize production because there is still too much manual work here for me with the lights. I can't do these expansion steps without extra money (from the bank) and I don't get it without the final STVZO allowance from the ministry. It's just because German market is so important- especially if you run your business in Germany. So all the lights sent so far mean too much manual work for me and it is not efficient to proceed this way. But without final STVZO there is no alternative so the manual work goes on.
At this point I made a break with this comment this morning: I just wanted to explain the current situation- but while writing this (very long) comment here I received a mail containing the official allowance for front & rear lights. This was exactly at 10:03 AM today and it seems like taken from a bad novel that I received the official STVZO documents while writing that my trust in future is dissolving more and more.
So that's the incredible turnaround point this morning. I have to process this good news while preparing some more lights for shipment today.traduzione di Google:

Anche se questo riguarda principalmente la Germania, la nostra attività è estremamente dipendente da questa approvazione - o per dirla più chiaramente: senza questa approvazione dovrei fermarmi dopo la consegna dei preordini).
Ma al momento stiamo solo aspettando del nuovo materiale arrivato in parte qualche settimana fa (vedi ultimo aggiornamento) e l'arrivo del materiale mancante

Ho usato un certo modello per la prototipazione, ma questa versione è ormai quasi del tutto scomparsa dal mercato (usata solo su alcuni freni Shimano). Era impossibile trovarli ovunque, quindi abbiamo iniziato la produzione personalizzata. Ecco il risultato:

* Due settimane fa ho pubblicato questo commento (esattamente nello stesso momento in cui è arrivata l'approvazione finale) fornendo alcuni spunti in più sulla difficile situazione senza l'approvazione di STVZO prima, fortunatamente questo problema è stato superato:
Per quanto riguarda le luci Microlight/Wega: è una storia molto lunga ora e non avrebbe mai dovuto essere così lunga. Abbiamo testato con successo Microlight e Wega per più di 10.000 km (ciascuna versione) e mia figlia, che è una delle cronometriste più veloci della Germania, le usa ogni giorno nel suo allenamento quotidiano, spesso nella completa oscurità e anche in condizioni meteorologiche avverse. Quindi funzionano davvero bene e sono affidabili. Ma sono stato minacciato di una multa di 50.000 euro se avessi venduto queste lampade in Germania (è stato nel 2019, dopo che avevo inviato un rimborso completo a uno dei nostri sottoscrittori che mi ha poi segnalato alla KBA [bel ringraziamento...]). Avete visto i miei aggiornamenti qui sopra e sotto tutti i problemi di produzione e consegna; la cosa principale era l’omologazione STVZO di cui ho bisogno per poter vendere/spedire le luci in Germania (il che significa il 50% di questo progetto). Abbiamo investito molti soldi e un'incredibile quantità di tempo per ottenere lo STVZO tedesco. È iniziato con lo sviluppo di nuove lenti e l'ottimizzazione del generatore e alla fine le luci anteriori erano abbastanza potenti e avevano il fascio di luce corretto per la STVZO tedesca.
Ho dovuto costruire io stesso l'attrezzatura di prova per i test al TÜV di Berlino, poiché finora non esisteva una procedura di test per tali lampade. Era il 2021 e le luci hanno superato con successo tutti i test (ho dovuto "solo" sostituire le lenti delle luci posteriori in dicembre 2021 perché nel frattempo le regole tedesche per le luci posteriori sono state modificate). Ma non basta: l'anno scorso (a settembre 2022) sono riuscito a superare con successo l'audit della nostra produzione (una procedura con una massa di documentazione, interviste, ...).
Mi è stato promesso di ottenere presto il certificato STVZO (mi aspettavo a ottobre) e poi ho ricevuto i numeri K a novembre (pubblicati qui in un altro aggiornamento). Ma non è tutto: le nostre luci sono diverse dalle luci "standard" per biciclette in Germania, il che significa che oltre ai test riusciti (+ l'audit di produzione) abbiamo bisogno di un permesso extra del ministero tedesco BMDV (Bundesministerium für Digitales & Verkehr). Non l'ho menzionato nel mio aggiornamento del "numero K" perché sono stato informato che l'autorizzazione sarebbe arrivata all'inizio di dicembre, ma non è stato così. Mi è stato comunicato che sarebbe arrivata prima di Natale, ma così non è stato... Mi è stato comunicato che sarebbe arrivata prima di metà gennaio, ma così non è stato... Perché dico questo? Avevo/ho in programma di ottimizzare la produzione perché c'è ancora troppo lavoro manuale per me con le luci. Non posso fare questi passaggi di espansione senza soldi extra (dalla banca) e non li ottengo senza l'ultima autorizzazione STVZO dal ministero. È solo perché il mercato tedesco è così importante, specialmente se gestisci la tua attività in Germania. Quindi tutte le luci inviate finora significano troppo lavoro manuale per me e non è efficiente procedere in questo modo. Ma senza STVZO finale non c'è alternativa, quindi il lavoro manuale continua.
A questo punto stamattina ho fatto una pausa con questo commento: volevo solo spiegare la situazione attuale, ma mentre scrivevo questo (molto lungo) commento qui ho ricevuto una mail contenente l'autorizzazione ufficiale per le luci anteriori e posteriori. Questo era esattamente alle 10:03 di oggi e sembra preso da un brutto romanzo che ho ricevuto i documenti ufficiali di STVZO mentre scrivevo che la mia fiducia nel futuro si stava dissolvendo sempre di più.
Quindi questo è l'incredibile punto di svolta di questa mattina. Devo elaborare questa buona notizia mentre preparo altre luci per la spedizione di oggi.[A questo punto due considerazioni mie, peraltro un po' banali:
